Where are you located?Location of service for in studio bookings will be held either at my studio located in Alexandria, VA or downtown Richmond, unless previously agreed upon by the artist and client. If travel is required, a travel fee will be assessed. There are certain requirements the makeup artist needs to complete the makeup on location. A set up table/work area needs to be made available for the makeup artist at said location. Working electrical outlets must also be made available for use. I service Northern VA, Washington DC, Charlottesville (and immediate surrounding cities), and Richmond (and immediate surrounding cities).

What is your booking process? In order to secure services for your date, a signed bridal contract and 30% deposit are required. For non bridal bookings, 30% deposit is required to book. This deposit is non-refundable. This deposit will be put toward the client’s total balance. For wedding bookings, the remaining balance will be due 7 days before the wedding. For non wedding bookings, the remaining balance is due upon completion of our appointment. Accepted forms of payment include: all major credit and debit cards via square invoice. Gratuity is never expected but always appreciated. Once you request your date, I will respond and send your necessary links to confirm your appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellations must be made at least 60 days prior to the reserved date to avoid paying the full amount of services. The 20% deposit is non-refundable. If Beauty by Jahara Jennaé cannot perform services due to external factors (e.g., safety concerns, acts of God), the artist reserves the right to discontinue services. Refunds will be considered at the artist’s discretion for services not rendered. Non wedding bookings have until 72hrs before the scheduled appointment time. Deposits are non refundable. If something interrupts/disrupts the artists ability to perform quality services to a professional standard (significant power outage, flood, fire, acts of God, etc.) the artist serves the right to discontinue services. Refunds of any services not completed due to these circumstances are up to the artist's discretion. Beauty by Jahara Jennae is available for reschedule if calendar permits.

What are your travel fees? All sessions are held in studio in Alexandria, VA or in downtown Richmond. If travel is required, a mileage fee ($1/mile both ways) will be charged for locations outside of a 10-mile radius of the studio locations. Travel fees apply for all pre-event consultations as well as day-of appointments.

Is your pricing negotiable?I understand weddings can be very pricey, and that can become very overwhelming. I have selected my pricing based on industry comps in the area, as well as my area of knowledge and skillset. With 10 years of wedding experience, you are not just booking a makeup session, you are also booking my experience. Wedding days, and the months leading up to it can be hectic, and I'm here to curate a calm experience for you and your girls while also getting you glam for your big day. I do offer payment plans, so if you feel that may be a good fit for you, feel free to inquire, and I'd be happy to do that for you!
-
Do you offer trials?Trials are available for brides. All trials are held at the studio, located in Alexandria or Richmond, VA. If consultation needs to be held out of studio, travel fee is required.
-
Are there late fees?Non bridal bookings are subject to cancellation after 15 minutes. (unless otherwise discussed by artist and client) For wedding bookings, a late fee of $30.00 will be charged for every 30 minutes of delay when a client is late for the scheduled time, or if the scheduled hair and/or makeup application exceeds the allotted time due to client delays. Due to additional scheduling, it is up to Beauty by Jahara Jennae's discretion on whether to service past the agreed upon end time, due to client tardiness.

Can I book earlier than 8am?Early bird appointments are available for an extra fee of $50. Early bird includes if travel is required prior to 7am. No early bird fee will be charged for in studio appointments beginning at 8am. For wedding bookings, If you need to start getting ready before 7 am, there is an early bird fee, price dependent on how many artists you need. (This can always be added later when you have a better idea of your timeline, if you haven’t set your schedule yet!)

Can I book for myself and add my bridal party later? If you want to get your date locked in, you absolutely can book for yourself and add your bridal party at a later date. PLEASE REMEMBER, it is always encouraged the you get a headcount sooner than later, because your appointment time allotment is based on how many people you book. ie: if you only book hair and makeup for 1 person, your time allotment is 90 minutes. If you wait and don't book others, I may get other bookings after your time and then not be able to include additional services for you. Also, depending on party size, will depend on how many artist come to your wedding. If you book services that fall under 1 artist, our additional artists may get booked and therefore be unavailable to come support a larger group.
